Who Killed the Fourth Ward? is a three part documentary filmed in 1976 that follows three filmmakers on a journey to talk with residents, government officials, reporters, and community leaders to examine the existential forcing encroaching onto the historic Black neighborhood, Freedmen’s Town.
In Part 1, entitled WITNESSES, the film team examines their own perspectives and ignorance as they begin to familiarize themselves with the current state of Fourth Ward, identifying the pressures facing the community and whether these anxieties are innocuous or systematic.
