Followed by a Q&A with Filmmaker Dano García and Subject Mis$ Mickey.
Filmed across a decade, filmmaker Dano García and Mickey Cundapí (known as Mis$ Mickey on social media) use digital archives, artistic reenactments, and personal encounters to explore their own relationships with gender and community. García explores the tenderness and rage of growing up as an outsider in a conservative environment and facing the continual phantoms years later. Winner of the Audience Award in the Global Cinema section at this year’s SXSW Film & TV Festival, Mickey reimagines what a documentary can be with blistering invigoration to the medium.
