About the Event

About the Performers

Danza Azteca Macuilxochitl, performing in the central gallery, shares Indigenous Mesoamerican traditions through dance, music, ceremony, and oral knowledge. Guided by ancestral teachings and supported by lineage-based relationships with teachers in Mexico, the group fosters cultural continuity, community connection, and respect for sacred traditions, creating spaces for intergenerational learning and cultural exchange.

Nameless Sound musicians Laura Dykes (double-bass) and Aryn Ward (winds) will perform on and with exhibiting artist Nanibah Chacon’s site-specific interactive mural in the Brown Foundation Gallery. Among other initiatives, Nameless Sound supports the exploration of new methods in arts education and presents concerts by premier artists in the world of creative music.
