THIS WEEK: Low-Fi with Cinema Bomar

We will show two short documentaries on 16mm film. The first, “Case History of a Rumour (part 1)” (1963) follows the low-fi methods by which the fake-news story of a United Nations invasion of the US spread. The second, “Slab City” (1982) follows elderly societal dropouts who have formed an intentional community on an abandoned military base in California. Total runtime of the films is 55 minutes.
