We continue our Murfee Worsham screenings with the classic adaption of the Raymond Chandler novel The Big Sleep. Marlowe (played to perfection by Humphrey Bogart) tangles with the Sternwood family, including Lauren Bacall, all the while searching for Sean Regan, a tough character in the rich man’s employ. Notoriously complicated in terms of plot, the film was adapted by Leigh Brackett and a man named William Faulkner, who, before coming to Hollywood, wrote novels.
