Pulitzer Prize winner Tania León’s colorful Pasajes recalls scenes from her early life in Cuba. Despite its name, people of all ages always find something delightful in Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, an ideal showcase for all sections of the orchestra. Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2 follows with sweeping melodies and grandeur, a stirring musical journey that became a symbol of hope and resilience for the Finnish people.

Directions & Parking

West Lot 2 is the parking lot for all Shepherd School of Music events. Access this lot via campus entrance #18 off Rice Boulevard. 

Overflow parking is available in West Lot 3 or in the Central Campus Garage, located just east of the music school (underneath the Jones Graduate School of Business) near campus entrance #20 off Rice Boulevard.

Stude Concert Hall, Duncan Recital Hall, Hirsch Orchestra Rehearsal Hall, and Wortham Opera Theatre are located in Alice Pratt Brown Hall on the Rice University campus.  Alice Pratt Brown Hall is wheelchair accessible. Signs inside the campus near entrances 1, 2, 8, and 20 provide directions to all visitor parking.
