About the Event

Come help us raise the swarm at The Fruit and the Work, the culminating performance of a long-term collaboration between poet and Rice University Professor of English and Environmental Studies Joseph Campana, and composer and Director of Rice Electroacoustic Music Labs Kurt Stallmann. This captivating performance explores the fascinating and evolving relationship between humans and honeybees. It will feature live poetry, music, lighting, immersive and spatialized sound, and AI-generated sounds and images.

Directions & Parking

West Lot 2 is the parking lot for all Shepherd School of Music events. Access this lot via campus entrance #18 off Rice Boulevard. 

Overflow parking is available in West Lot 3 or in the Central Campus Garage, located just east of the music school (underneath the Jones Graduate School of Business) near campus entrance #20 off Rice Boulevard.

Stude Concert Hall, Duncan Recital Hall, Hirsch Orchestra Rehearsal Hall, and Wortham Opera Theatre are located in Alice Pratt Brown Hall on the Rice University campus.  Alice Pratt Brown Hall is wheelchair accessible. Signs inside the campus near entrances 1, 2, 8, and 20 provide directions to all visitor parking.
