About the Event

Cynthia Fishman, director and founder of the Biomimicry Design Alliance, presents the lecture “Biomimicry: Nature as the Unmitigated Master Mentor” at 12:00 p.m. via Zoom as part of the Rice Architecture Mentorship Lecture Series.

“Biomimicry: Nature as the Unmitigated Master Mentor” focuses on sustainability, conscious emulation of nature’s genius by mimicking forms, processes, and systems from a functional perspective.

Rice Architecture Mentorship Lectures are initiated by the Rice Society of Architecture, aiming to address students’ will and focus. The invited lecturers are selected by students to speak on their work and more over their design under the circumstances of today’s time – this year COVID -19. The aim of the lecture series is to further assist students on these interests upon the school’s curriculum while more broadly fostering understanding in architecture.
