Award-winning ‘The Rabbit Hunt’ coming to Rice Media Center Nov. 8

“The Rabbit Hunt,” a multimedia exhibition by Texas-based filmmakers Patrick Bresnan and Ivete Lucas, opens at the Rice Media Center Nov. 8. The exhibition will be followed by the official opening of the Houston Cinema Arts Society’s film festival and a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Demons real and imagined are coming to campus, along with your chance to inhabit one yourself, thanks to an immersive virtual reality experience unlike anything Rice has ever hosted. Artist Matthew Ritchie spent last two years creating “The Demon in the Diagram,” a site-specific installation commissioned by the Moody Center for the Arts that spans its two largest galleries.

Innovative artistic residencies mark exciting fall lineup at the Moody

An artist whose acclaimed works are the product of cross-disciplinary collaborations with scientists, engineers, musicians, architects and programmers is taking over the Moody Center for the Arts this fall. In addition to a site-specific installation with a virtual reality (VR) component that will span two galleries in the Moody, Matthew Ritchie’s work will also extend across campus to 10 different Rice University classrooms during his 2 1/2-month residency.
