Visual and Dramatic Arts intersects the arts and community engagement outside of Rice. The Department’s three concentrations – Studio Art, Theater, and Film and Photography – allow students to study sculpture, critical theory, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, acting, directing, stage design, and film production. Our faculty are all engaged in their fields and exhibit, screen, and stage their work locally, nationally, and abroad. Throughout the year, faculty and students curate and present programs, including film screenings, theater productions, and exhibitions, that are open to the people of Rice, Houston, and beyond.
